Saigon Morin HotelFrom GBP 64.00 single, GBP 32.00 double/twin per personOriginally opened in 1901, the Saigon Morin has had a fascinating if somewhat chequered history. Until 1945 the Morin was ‘the’ place to stay in Central Vietnam. However, from 1946 onwards the building was used as a bunker for the French army, a university and stronghold of the National Liberation Front! Like many colonial properties, the Morin fell into disrepair post 1975 and was only restored to its former glory following a massive renovation in 1997. Following the recent addition of a new and luxurious executive floor, the Morin now has a total of 180 rooms which are all spacious and tastefully decorated with reproduction French colonial furniture and floral drapes. Beds are comfortable, and the marble bathrooms with bath and shower are large and well appointed. The hotel's facilities include a sauna and massage service, beauty salon, pool table and a chance to cruise the Perfume River accompanied by a Hue folk show. An interior garden courtyard houses a small swimming pool and al fresco bar/restaurant - the perfect place to enjoy breakfast or relax at the end of the day.
