Luang Say Mekong Cruise

Cruise into Laos, the 'Land of a Million Elephants' in true style, on a luxury Mekong riverboat.  Our 'Luang Say' slow boat is the finest of its kind cruising the Mekong and takes you on a remarkable two-day passage past wild, precious forest, along Southeast Asia's great river.  En route we stop at a Tai Lu village and learn something about one of Laos's fascinating ethnic groups.  We break our journey at the exquisite Luang Say Lodge, in remote Pakbeng.  A stay here is a unique experience - surrounded by jungle and perched over the Mekong, our beautifully furnished cabins enjoy a serene and unique setting.  Your hosts for the night come from the nearby village and are Hmong and Tai Lu hill tribe people.

On our approach to enchanting Luang Prabang we spend time at the at the Pak Ou Buddha caves, and towards the end of day two we glide into the famous temple city and former capital of the Lane Xang kingdom.

You will travel on the Luang Say boat for around six to seven hours each day for two days, and enjoy delicious lunch feasts on deck.  The Luang Say boat has a large, open deck area with lounges and chairs, as well as a well-stocked bar.  Between dining and wining and taking in Mekong river-life, your time on the Luang Say luxury boat will pass quickly ...
