Kuang Si FallsLocated around 35km from Luang Prabang, the falls tumble around 60 metres and form a scenic series of several pools, filled with crystal blue water in a lovely jungle setting. It is possible to swim in some of the larger pools, although the water can be cold! The pools are often more picturesque in the rainy season when they are fuller but make a lovely excursion from Luang Prabang year round. Nearby H’mong tribal villages are also worth a visit – it is interesting to observe the way of life, which bears little resemblance to modern life as we know it. The villagers supplement their income by making traditional handicrafts to sell to tourists. |
