GajnerThis elegant heritage hotel is located in a peaceful and isolated spot, on the banks of this picturesque lake. The surrounding area is a rich forested area, home to much wildlife. It was the promise of this wildlife which tempted the Maharajah to choose this peaceful location as the site of his lodge, however these days the area is protected and is now a Wildlife Sanctuary. It is now possible to spot black buck, chinkara, wild boar and blue bulls which roam the wilderness in large herds. Gajner is also popular for birdwatching. Amongst a great variety of birds, it may even be possible to spot the fabled Imperial sand grouse during the winter months. |
